The First Game Council established in Ireland in 1958, Kildare Regional Game and Wildlife Council (KRGWC) is an association for game clubs in County Kildare.
We promote the effective management of wildlife and the sport of sustainable game hunting in the county and are a leader in game management, development and habitat improvement.
With other like-minded associations and clubs we are developing a new organisation - the Irish Association for Game Hunting and Conservation - for those not currently represented at a national level.
Our affiliation to IFA Countryside provides us with a competitive insurance package along with support and sponsorship, and strengthens close links to our farmer hosts.
With the Irish Red Grouse Association we have set up a number of projects, in order to re-establishi the population of red grouse in Ireland. Our work involves habitat improvement at a number of bogs, predator/vermin control, and volentary restrictions on shooting.
We work closely with Countryside Alliance Ireland in the promotion and protection of field sports and we share in their aims and objectives
